Recruiting disasters: Every HR pro’s had at least one. Now we’d like to hear about yours.

No matter how carefully you plan a recruiting campaign, how carefully you write the job description and describe the qualifications, how diligent you are in vetting the candidate … things go wrong.

The sales guy who was so great in the interview turns out to be able to sell just one thing: himself. The copywriter who can’t write copy. The lobby receptionist who turns out to have a personality that’s a cross between a crocodile and Attila the Hun.

And those are just examples we personally know of.

So c’mon. ‘Fess up. Tell us about your worst recruiting disaster.

We’ll compile the tales into a future HR Morning post.
